Sauk Prairie is the name of a proposed union of Sauk City and Prairie du Sac, two villages located on the west bank of the Wisconsin River in southeastern Sauk County, Wisconsin. According to the 2000 census, the combined community would have a population of 6,340. While the union of the two municipalities has thus far been unsuccessful, primarily as a result of rivalries between them, the name is in common use for area cultural venues, businesses, and service organizations (e.g., the local newspaper, the Sauk Prairie Eagle
