Edgerton is a city located in Rock County, Wisconsin. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 4,933. Edgerton is known locally as "Tobacco City U.S.A." and was at one time a front runner in the Tobacco industry. There is still a fairly large Tobacco crop out of the region to this day. Edgerton is also the Boyhood Home of Author Sterling North, whose most famous writings are Rascal and The Wolfling.
