Zavalla is a city located in Angelina County, Texas. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 647. The town is named for Lorenzo de Zavala, a Mexican rancher, politician, and signer of the Texas Declaration of Independence who served as the first Vice-President of the Republic of Texas.
