Fort Pierre is a city located in Stanley County, South Dakota. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 1,991. It is the county seat of Stanley County. Lily Park, in Fort Pierre, is situated at the mouth of the Bad River. Nearby is a historical location, where the Lewis and Clark Expedition met with the Teton Sioux.
