Welches is an unincorporated tourist-oriented community in Clackamas County, Oregon. It is located within the Mt. Hood Corridor in Oregon, located between Zigzag and Wemme along U.S. Highway 26.
The community was named after Samuel Welch, a homesteader who settled near Welches Creek in 1882. A post office was established here in 1905. The first golf course in the state was built here in the mid-1920s, and today, the largest hotel and golf resort in the corridor is located here, complete with croquet courts.
