Lima is a city located in Allen County, Ohio. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 40,081. The city's name is pronounced so that the "i" rhymes with "eye" (that is, not the same as the city in Peru). It is the county seat of Allen County. Lima is located in northwestern Ohio, north of Dayton; it was founded in 1831.
In various times, Lima has manufactured railroad equipment, various machinery, and electrical goods. A limestone quarry is nearby.
