Senatobia is a city located in Tate County, Mississippi. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 6,682. It is the county seat of Tate County. Senatobia is the home of The Baddour Center, a residential care agency for mentally retarded adults, and to Northwest Mississippi Community College, a two year public technical and liberal arts college. In 2004 the college had an enrollment of 4700.
The city took its name, with a slight deviation in spelling, from nearby Senatahoba Creek (senatahoba or sin-ih-toh-bih-a), which means "White Sycamore" or "Black Snake".
