Kensington is a city located in Douglas County, Minnesota. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 286. The city is notable in Minnesota history for being the place where the famous, if questionable, Kensington runestone was discovered. The stone tablet may indicate that Vikings had come to Minnesota in the 12th century. It is now at a museum in nearby Alexandria, Minnesota.
