Newberry is a village located in Luce County, Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 2,686. It is the county seat of Luce County.
Newberry is surrounded by miles of state and national forests and is considered one of two gateways to the Tahquamenon Falls area. Newberry was designated as the moose capital of Michigan the Michigan legislature with House Resolution 2002-572 and Senate Resolution 2002-259. It is home to a state prison.
