Marlette is a city located in Sanilac County, Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 2,104. The city is located within Marlette Township.
Marlette is known as "The Heart of the Thumb" due to its location in Michigan. It is a relatively small community, with its own 9-hole golf course, public pools, and a municipal airport. Active Homes, a producer of modular homes has a factory located here, as well has factories producing automotive parts. Crops grown here include corn, beans and sugar beets.
