Benton Harbor is a city located in Berrien County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 11,182. It was the scene of racially charged riots in June 2003 after a black man fatally crashed on his motorcycle during a high-speed chase by white police officers attempting to cite him for not having current vehicle plates. The local Black Autonomy Network Community Organization was founded in the aftermath of the riots.Web Sites and Links
