Vernon is a town located in Tolland County, Connecticut. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 28,063.
Vernon was incorporated in October, 1808, from Bolton. Vernon contains the borough of Rockville, incorporated in January, 1889. The town of Vernon and city of Rockville consolidated on July 1, 1965.
The town is the birthplace of former professional football player Bill Romanowski.
