Miranda is a small town in Southern Humboldt County, California. It is near the southern entrance to the Avenue of the Giants. The primary High School of Southern Humboldt Schools South Fork High resides in Miranda as does the alternative Osprey school. The town was named by a former post mistress. The town sits next to the south fork of the eel river, amidst giant redwood trees. Visitors enjoy a nearby information center, as well as luxurious local accommodation.
