Hope is a small city located in Hempstead County, Arkansas. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 10,616. The city is the county seat of Hempstead County.
It is notable primarily as the birth place of the 42nd president of the United States, Bill Clinton. At the 1992 Democratic National Convention, Clinton ended his acceptance speech by saying, "I believe in a place called Hope".
